West Tytherley Primary School is a charming village school set in beautiful rural surroundings. With a strong sense of community and a child-centred ethos, we pride ourselves on providing a caring, inspiring and enriching environment where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. This is a unique opportunity to teach a small incoming Reception cohort of approximately 10 children, with class sizes typically remaining between 10-16 pupils.

The successful candidate will benefit from high levels of autonomy and the opportunity to shape a truly engaging Early Years experience built around children’s interests, curiosity and individual development. Outdoor learning is central to our curriculum, and we are proud of our extensive use of our natural environment, including Forest School opportunities and hands-on experiential learning. We believe children learn best through exploration, play, creativity and meaningful real-world experiences.

Working at a federated school: Our federation is made up of two charming village schools, both of which have recently received ‘Good’ judgments from Ofsted. Under the federation, each school retains its own unique character while working collaboratively under a single Governing Body and Executive Headteacher. Both Broughton and West Tytherley pride themselves on their caring, small-school approach where children are truly known as individuals.

The federation offers a friendly, forward-thinking and highly supportive environment in which to work, with excellent opportunities for collaboration, professional development and career progression. We understand that high-quality education comes from high-quality teaching and we are committed to supporting all staff to reach their full potential. We provide a strong programme of Continuing Professional Development tailored to the needs and aspirations of our staff. We also work closely with schools across our wider cluster to provide enriching opportunities for both pupils and staff.

The successful applicant will join a passionate and committed team dedicated to delivering exciting and meaningful learning experiences that inspire children and nurture a lifelong love of learning.

  • flexible, proactive and able to respond to the changing needs of young children with care and sensitivity
  • a team player who values collaboration while also embracing the autonomy and creativity this role offers

We can offer the opportunity to:

  • teach in a small, nurturing Early Years class with excellent adult-to-child ratios
  • put children truly at the heart of your practice
  • enjoy high levels of professional autonomy and creativity within the curriculum
  • work in a happy and supportive environment where everyone is valued and ideas are welcomed
  • develop your career within a supportive federation committed to professional growth
  • work alongside a hard-working, caring and dedicated team
  • deliver meaningful outdoor learning and Forest School experiences in a beautiful rural setting
