Main Function of the role
This role will provide Performance & Attribution Business Analyst support within a programme of work designed to reinforce firm-wide integration, create opportunities for commercial growth, and deliver operational efficiency improvements across the US and UK. This role sits within the Investment Operations team. The role holder will represent the Global Performance function, providing operational project assistance and business analysis to support the evaluation for a strategic global multi-year programme of work to both globalise and outsource Federated Hermes Performance function. The role holder will be accountable for ensuring the Performance/Operations team are engaged and versed in the programme as required, with significant engagement and interaction with the BAU subject matter experts across both performance and technology functions. The role holder will support the Global Head of Performance through input into the design and delivery of the strategic target operating model and delivery approach for the Globalised Performance function.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Support the Middle Office Globalisation programme of strategic importance to FHI as required.
- Work in a highly collaborative and coordinated fashion, both across the business and with our outsourced provider.
- Working with stakeholders across the global business to ensure deliverables are met and momentum is maintained.
- Drive, design and deliver the strategic target operating model for the Global Performance Function.
- Contribution to Federated Hermes project management toolkit; predominantly business requirement gathering and analysis.
- Strong collaboration with full programme core delivery team.
- Production of status reporting, updates, issues and risks for Performance BAU.
- Supporting the Global Head of Performance as required.
- Providing support for the successful delivery of day-to-day operational service where project activity permits.
Minimum Experience Required
- Deep knowledge of the end-to-end Performance & Attribution business cycle, including external market infrastructure used.
- Experience with Middle Office/Performance Service providers.
- Expertise in business process re-engineering, change management and transformation activity.
- Experience of supporting performance & attribution-focused change on large projects/programmes, preferably in the investment industry.
- Experience with performance systems, practices, regulation and public market lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
- Ability to balance between detailed analysis and acting as an advocate for the Performance Function in strategic change forums.
- Solid understanding of performance & attribution operating models, systems, governance and challenges.
- Proficient in mapping business processes, data flows, requirements gathering and documentation.
- Self-starter, highly motivated and focused on operational excellence with ability to take the initiative.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to establish an effective rapport, communicate and influence at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage several activities concurrently.
- An independent worker deadline and results focused; able to work and deliver solutions under time sensitive constraints.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of thinking logically, using initiative and able to resolve complex operational challenges.
- Thorough knowledge of the investment management performance functions landscape and trends.
- Solid understanding of business analysis tools, techniques and standards to drive the highest quality user documentation and impact assessments.
- Strong process mapping and design skills, including facilitation of process improvement.
- Ability to identify benefits and support their realisation.
- Able to align business solution outcomes to overall corporate strategy requirements.
- Ability to present and interpret clear and relevant MI (management information) to a high standard.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and develop solutions that are appropriate to the business needs.
- Focused and disciplined working practise to ensure scope and deliverables remain focused on the target outcomes.
- Strong risk mindset to support the project in risk identification and mitigation proposals.
