Senior Project Manager – FEC – Manchester

The Role:

Reporting into the Delivery Director, the Senior Project Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the construction of our development projects. You will bring extensive experience in delivering complex residential development schemes, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

The duties of the Senior Project Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of multiple development projects from RIBA Stages 1–7.
  • Take responsibility for procurement, design development, and contractor appointment (including PCSA and JCT Design & Build contracts).
  • Work cross-functionally with internal development, planning, and commercial teams.
  • Oversee the management of design teams and monitor progress against key milestones.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including local authorities, community partners, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure timely delivery, budget control, quality assurance, and compliance with health & safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead contract negotiations and oversee commercial elements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide input into feasibility, risk, and strategic planning activities across the business.

Personal Specifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following traits or competencies:

  • Circa 10 years PQE in relevant field.
  • Relevant qualification in building, surveying, engineering, project management, construction, or other relevant discipline.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, high density, high-value residential projects.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, manage and motivate project teams.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to effectively track, report, and manage multiple projects and priorities where meeting deadlines is critical.
  • Coordinate and report on cash flow, programme, financial performance, cost and risk together with the Commercial Manager, communicating on both project and corporate levels.
  • Able to communicate with a wide range of people, develop and maintain key contacts.
