Reporting to the Aftercare Manager, the Aftercare Coordinator will be responsible for managing post-completion customer care and defect resolution for construction projects. Acting as the main point of contact after handover, the role ensures that defects, warranty issues, and customer queries are handled efficiently, professionally, and in line with contractual obligations and company standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, residents, and stakeholders during the aftercare period.
  • Log, track, and manage defects and snagging issues from receipt through to completion.
  • Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to arrange inspections and remedial works.
  • Prioritise and schedule aftercare works to meet agreed timescales and service level agreements.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess defects and verify completed remedial works.
  • Maintain accurate aftercare records, reports, and defect trackers.
  • Ensure all works comply with health & safety requirements and quality standards.
  • Manage warranty claims and liaise with warranty providers where required.
  • Support smooth transition from construction to aftercare and final project close-out.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally, aiming for timely and satisfactory resolution.
  • Provide regular updates to management on outstanding issues and performance metrics.

Personal Specifications:

  • Previous experience in construction aftercare, customer care, or site coordination.
  • Good understanding of construction processes, defects, and remedial works.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously and work to deadlines.
  • Competent in using CRM Systems (Clixifix) for logging and tracking issues.
  • Trade background or technical construction knowledge - desirable.
  • Experience working on residential or mixed-use developments - desirable.
  • Familiarity with warranty providers (e.g. NHBC, LABC, Premier Guarantee) - desirable.
