Job Title: Heritage Project Delivery Job
Location: Featherstone Rovers Foundation
Employment Type: 18 hours per week, 1-year fixed term
Reports To: Head of Foundation
Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Build and care for a heritage archive of memorabilia, photographs, matchday programmes and documents
- Run an oral history programme with former players, miners, supporters, and local residents
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers
- Manage the project plan, budget, and National Lottery Heritage Fund reporting
- Deliver exhibitions, events, and digital content
Role Overview
Help preserve and celebrate the heritage that links Rugby League, mining communities, and local identity across Featherstone and the wider Wakefield district, in partnership with the National Coal Mining Museum for England delivering our Rugby Boots and Mining Roots heritage project.
About You
- Knowledge of collections management, cataloguing and oral history
- Strong project management and budget monitoring skills
- Experience coordinating volunteers and public engagement
- An interest in Rugby League, local history and mining communities
- Experience of National Lottery Heritage Fund projects.
Flexible working hours are welcomed, including some evenings and weekends. A satisfactory DBS check is required.
