We are recruiting for an experienced Operations Director to oversee a portfolio of 12 care homes across Surrey. This is a senior leadership role within a respected and growing care provider, offering a competitive salary of £100,000 plus benefits.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of their region — driving quality, compliance, occupancy, and commercial performance across all homes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strong leadership and support to Home Managers across the region.
- Drive compliance with CQC regulations and internal governance frameworks.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including occupancy, care quality, staffing, and financial performance.
- Implement best practices to deliver outstanding care and operational efficiency.
- Lead on recruitment, retention, and development of home-level leadership teams.
- Build strong working relationships with commissioners, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and person-centred care.
- Contribute to wider strategic planning and organisational development.
- Proven experience in an operational leadership role within elderly care (multi-site essential).
- Deep understanding of regulatory compliance (CQC) and governance in social care.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and drive performance.
- Inspirational leadership style with the ability to develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to travel regularly across Surrey as required.
