Regional Director – Homecare

North West, Wales, Midlands & South West | £85,000 + £5,000 car allowance + uncapped bonus

Featherbank Selection is partnering with one of the UK’s fastest-growing homecare providers to appoint a Regional Director for a large, high-performing region running down the west side of the country, from the North West and Wales, through the Midlands and down to Plymouth.

This is a big role in a business that moves quickly. The organisation is large and well established, but still founder-led and operates with the pace and ambition of a start-up. The region has recently been restructured to set it up for growth, with an active acquisition pipeline and more branches joining over time. This role needs someone who can hit the ground running: an experienced regional homecare leader who has already run a large multi-site portfolio and brings the drive, commercial edge and adaptability to thrive at this pace.

The role

  • Leading a region of c.30 homecare branches, including extra care schemes, averaging around 1,500 hours per week per branch
  • Leading, developing and supporting a team of five Regional Operations Managers, each with their own patch, and building succession through the branch management teams
  • Taking accountability for regional financial, quality and compliance results, and carrying out Registered Provider responsibilities under the Health and Social Care Act
  • Leading organic growth and increasing hours across the region, as well as integrating newly acquired branches into the business
  • Championing care worker engagement and retention
  • Driving profitability through operational efficiency and strong P&L management
  • Maintaining strong regulatory outcomes across CQC and CIW, with the branches currently rated Good or above
  • Working closely with a dedicated regional Quality Business Partner and Service Improvement Officer on mock inspections, reviews and improvement plans, alongside your own regular unannounced branch visits
  • Acting as the senior escalation point for safeguarding and regulatory risk

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as a Regional Director, Operations Director or equivalent in homecare, leading a large multi-branch portfolio through a team of managers
  • A background in managing within a domiciliary care setting
  • The ability to hit the ground running: this isn’t a step-up role, and you’ll be leading the region from day one
  • Strong financial acumen, with confidence owning and interpreting a regional P&L
  • A track record of growth, whether through new business, acquisitions or increasing hours
  • Confident operational grip on CQC regulation and quality assurance (CIW knowledge a bonus)
  • Resilience, pace and the ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-moving environment
  • Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care or a management qualification is desirable

What’s on offer

  • £85,000 basic salary plus £5,000 car allowance
  • Uncapped performance-related bonus, linked to growing hours across the region, plus an annual discretionary bonus
  • 25p per mile business mileage
  • Hybrid working: roughly two days a week in branches, two to three from home, and occasional leadership meetings at head office
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off, with the option to buy five more days
  • Health cash plan including eye tests and glasses, company pension and an employee discount platform
  • The chance to shape a growing region in an ambitious, acquisitive business

If you’re an experienced regional homecare leader who enjoys scale, pace and growth, and wants a region set up to perform, I’d love to speak with you confidentially.
