Our mission: To design a better world. We apply our mission to all of our daily interactions with candidates, clients and teams and treat it as a philosophy and work ethic with everything that we do.
At Fierce, our Experience Design Discipline covers User Research, UX and Service Design. We are looking to bring in a Lead Experience Designer who is able to work across the three disciplines and excels at making the complex simple and tangible with a strong appreciation for defining and bringing together research, design, technology, business and organisational considerations to ensure that experiences are inclusive, usable, desirable, technically feasible and commercially viable.
An ideal candidate would be someone who has a strong attention to detail and enjoys being both hands on with delivery project work but is also comfortable providing design leadership for other perm and contract designers and managing client relationships. As a senior member of the team, you will also be expected to take a strategic and holistic approach, be a champion for user needs and have the experience to take others along a journey with you to ensure that you are defining, designing and building the right solutions together in order to create meaningful change for our clients and support Fierce in creating a better world.
Responsibilities:- Lead the delivery of Experience Design projects, manage, direct and delegate to multi-disciplinary and multi-vendor teams of designers and be responsible for the quality of project deliverables.
- As an Experience Design lead, you would be responsible for day to day project decisions, offering strategic direction to your teams and stakeholders and supporting the planning / scoping of design deliverables, reporting to the Delivery team on deliverable statuses and notifying them of any risks.
- Co-design and work collaboratively with cross-discipline teams including other designers, researchers, strategists and developers and other digital disciplines to uncover, define and communicate user needs, pain points, values and behaviours that drive experience opportunities and design recommendations, bringing integrated value to our clients.
- Live our values and lead by example to line manage, support and empower more junior designers in the team and/or on projects to support their career, skill progression and ensure the quality of project deliverables.
- Applying and feeding into Fierce’s Experience Design strategy, processes, playbooks, principles & best practices to strengthen the frameworks, ensuring that we continue to achieve impact at scale.
- Play a key role in representing Fierce and support the Fearless Community team and members whether through engaging in daily conversations, participating in events or something else that takes your fancy.
- Comfortable facilitating online and in person workshops with senior stakeholders, planning, conducting and analysing outputs from both qualitative and quantitative user research and communicating your insights to your team and clients through the creation and delivery of behavioural segments, user journeys, service blueprints and playback decks as well as concept, detailed and annotated wireframes with minimal oversight.
- An understanding of the fundamental principles of IAs, with the ability to create simple constructs, and guide users through card sorting and/or testing sessions.
- You have strong leadership skills and are confident in engaging users and day to day teams as well as executive decision-makers in a collaborative and outcome-driven strategic co-design process that generates measurable business impact.
- Ability to confidently lead and motivate blended teams to consistently deliver outstanding work.
- Experience in leading and advocating for Design thinking and Experience Design practices and methodologies that bring together, user, business and technology lenses to create a holistic view of a service or product.
- Excellent analytical thinking, a detail-oriented mindset and strong verbal and written skills to rationalise your design decisions and support the consolidation of ideas and findings into cohesive stories to help educate and take stakeholders on a journey.
- Experience as a Lead Service, Experience or UX Designer, working in Agency and collaboratively in an Agile manner with cross-functional and multi-vendor teams in B2B and B2C environments across different geographies.
