Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEND - Fixed Term - 31.08.2026

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant SEND, to actively participate in lessons, working with students to help them meet their targets, promoting independence and developing their confidence and self-esteem; as well as providing small group and 1:1 intervention lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide particular support for identified pupil(s) with special educational needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
  • Use Strategies, under the supervision and guidance of the teacher to support pupils to achieve learning goals
  • Support the use of IT in learning activities and develop pupils\' competence and independence in its use.

Pay Details:

SCP5 - 7 - £19,764.35 - £20,397.85 - FTE: - £25,583.00 - £26,403.00, 32.5 hours per week - 39 weeks per year - fixed until 31.08.2026

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Maths and English GCSE grade 9-4 (A-C) or equivalent or working towards
  • NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Experience of working with students with SEN is desirable but full training will be given for the right candidate.
  • The ability to use your initiative and ensure children\'s needs are met inclusively.
  • Is a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
