We are looking for an Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils\’ work
  • Monitor pupils\’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement and progress as directed

Pay range: SCP NJC 21 – 26 (Based on 37 Hours / 41 working weeks per year) Actual Salary £34,343.54 – £38,186.74 (This includes the Inner London Allowance of £4,000 per annum)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant educational experience supporting a child in a Secondary School setting
  • Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
  • Ability to model acceptable behaviours and encourage good social skills
  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
  • Level 4 | HLTA qualification and or relevant experience
