As the educational arm of Westminster City Council, Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES) offers unparalleled opportunities to grow, develop and acquire new skills. The Role:

As an Inclusive Pathways and ALS Curriculum Manager, you will shape inclusive education at WAES, ensuring learners with additional needs receive the support, opportunities, and guidance they need to succeed. You will lead a dedicated, multidisciplinary team delivering both SEND provision and ALS support across the organisation.

  • Oversee and continuously improve the quality, effectiveness, and compliance of all provision.
  • Ensure timely and relevant assessments, including those for assistive technology and adapted learning resources.
  • Work closely with the exams team to implement Exam Access Arrangements.
  • Provide specialist guidance to curriculum colleagues, prospective learners, and external agencies.
  • Take responsibility for overseeing recruitment, appraisals, target setting, and CPD.
  • Create a culture of collaboration and accountability within your team.
  • Contribute to business planning and manage departmental budgets.
  • Represent the college in mediation or tribunal cases when required.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of both staff and students.
  • Monitor student feedback and satisfaction to refine services.

About You:

You will bring significant experience working within a post-16 or adult education environment, with a strong understanding of the needs of learners with SEND and a commitment to inclusive practice. You will have knowledge of current issues in Further Education, particularly around SEND legislation.

  • In-depth knowledge of ALS funding streams and methodologies.
  • Demonstrable track record of improving student progress and achievement.
  • Extensive experience in managing, motivating and developing teaching and support staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confident using digital tools, including Office 365.
  • Understanding of safeguarding legislation within an educational setting.
