Salary: £31,520 to £41,574

Location: Brunel House, Huddersfield & The Construction Hub, Dewsbury

Hours and Weeks per Year: 37 hours / 52 weeks per year

Overview: Due to the continued expansion of the Construction faculty, we are looking for new talent to join a team that has an ambitious culture and a drive to succeed. We welcome applications from both experienced teaching staff trade professionals and those looking to start an exciting career in education. You’ll be involved in nurturing and developing the next generation of construction workers on full time courses, apprenticeships and short courses. We’re already a successful college, but we’re continually striving to be better and do better – be part of our story!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver, create, drive and lead high-quality lessons and practical sessions in the workshops.
  • Teach and develop programmes of study to meet the needs of learners across multiple trades at levels 1–2.
  • Create a positive classroom environment by engaging learners and helping them develop ambition and confidence as they prepare for their next step.
  • Actively participate in staff development opportunities such as a mentoring scheme and pursue external qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience in the construction industry trade.
  • Willingness to study further and demonstrate a commitment to the college values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage young people.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
