Required to have a previous technical background (SDLC - will have been a software engineer/ developer earlier in their career). Delivery focused and Team Leading / People Management required, c £65000 - 75000 + benefits. Remote role with one day a month in the office.
Excellent and varied Engineering Manager role involving software project delivery, line management, scrum mastery and more. To be considered you will have come from a development background but will not be hands on anymore. People / line management is critical (you will be managing a team of 6-9) as are strong software delivery skills. This great role is for a technology company at the forefront of their industry. Working on their SaaS product you will manage a team and enable them to focus on the development of software to external clients. A skilled Scrum Master, you will be software delivery focused and will have people / line management experience.
Key Tasks Include:
- Remove external impediments for the team allowing them to focus on delivery.
- Manage a team that develop high quality software.
- Work with the Product Owner and manage the delivery timescales and scheduling expectations.
- Track, monitor and report to ensure projects are delivered within scope, to time and cost.
- Work with the agile engagement team to adopt suitable tools and methodologies.
- Manage all the ceremonies of the team from stand up to refinement and retro.
Skills and experience must include:
- Strong and proven experience as an Engineering Manager (software) or similar.
- Delivery skills and experience.
- Team leading and mentoring experience (direct line management, 1-2-1's, reviews, etc).
- Excellent knowledge of Agile.
- Good knowledge of the SDLC having started your career as a Software Developer or Software Tester.
- Knowledge of data driven roles or environments is an advantage.
