About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Operational Resilience & Crisis Management Lead to work for our client in the financial services sector. This role is a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.
The role will support the delivery of critical resilience capabilities and is essential in ensuring compliance with the UK Operational Resilience Regulations (effective Q and strengthening the organisation\βs ability to respond to and recover from disruption. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational resilience within the Financial Services sector and be confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels to embed resilience into business-as-usual operations
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of operational resilience frameworks in line with UK regulatory requirements.
- Support the identification and mapping of Important Business Services (IBS), including setting and testing impact tolerances.
- Oversee the documentation and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for complex services.
- Coordinate and facilitate crisis and incident management activities, including scenario planning and live response.
- Design and execute stress testing exercises, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending remedial actions.
- Deliver training and awareness sessions to embed resilience principles across the business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure resilience is integrated into change and restructuring initiatives.
- Translate complex regulatory and operational information into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
About You
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proven experience in operational resilience, with a strong understanding of the UK Operational Resilience Regulations
- Background in the Financial Services industry, particularly in Health, Home, or Motor insurance.
- Demonstrated experience in crisis management, incident response, and business continuity planning.
- Strong understanding of stress testing methodologies and risk remediation planning.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to distil complex information and identify contingency risks and mitigation strategies.
- Experience delivering training and embedding resilience culture across business units.
- Technical knowledge (e.g., risk modelling, systems resilience) is advantageous.
