FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a SAP Solution Owner to work for our client within the healthcare sector. This is initially a 3 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

The Digital and Tech Solution Owner: Innovate to Market plays a critical role in ensuring our client's Technology Platforms enable their enterprise processes to be designed, governed, and operated in a consistent, scalable, and future fit way. Our client is seeking a Digital and Tech Solution Owner to lead the design, delivery, operation and continuous improvement of a global technology platform that supports end-to-end business processes across functions and markets. Sitting at the heart of a major transformation programme, this role will drive the move from fragmented legacy ways of working to integrated, standardised and digitally enabled processes that support growth, unlock organisational capacity and maintain compliance and operational excellence.

Acting as the technology owner and key decision-maker for the enterprise, you will partner with Business Process Owners to break down functional silos, ensure technology decisions deliver value across the whole organisation, and champion the adoption of standard market-leading capabilities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping scalable, future-ready solutions, eliminating unnecessary customisation and enabling faster delivery of business value through globally aligned technology platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Innovate to Market
    • SAP S/4 HANA and SAP IPD/HANA based functional expertise in:
      • Recipe Management
      • Formulations Management
      • Packaging Management
      • Project and Portfolio Management
  • End-to-End Solution Ownership
    • Own the global functional solution, technical standards, delivery and operations governance, and technical documentation for the E2E ERP process.
    • Define and maintain global solution blueprints, technical decision rights, IT controls, and IT policies.
    • Ensure standardisation and harmonisation of ERP solutions across markets and functions.
  • Solution Design & Transformation Leadership
    • Provide hands-on SAP PLM and SAP IPD implementation experience and guidance, enabling business process design and continuous improvement activities across all phases of Enterprise Transformation (Design, Build, Test, Deployment, Sustain).
    • Input into the design authority for the process.
    • Act as the guardian of the global template during deployment waves and ensure alignment with S/4HANA and SAP IPD design and implementation principles.
    • Partner with Business Process Owners and SMEs, Data, and other Solution Owners to ensure integrated, coherent designs.
  • Operate Existing ERP Solutions
    • Deliver ongoing BAU changes to the legacy SAP ECC based landscape.
    • Deliver functional expertise to address ECC operational critical issues.
    • Accountable for legacy SAP systems lifecycle management, e.g. functional upgrades, legal / tax changes, and change related IT controls.
  • Governance & Decision-Making
    • Resolve cross-functional process issues, conflicts, and dependencies.
    • Minimise deviations to global standards and ensure adherence to governance frameworks.
    • Define process KPIs, controls, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Business Process Owners, Process Experts, Local Process Experts, and Functional Leaders to embed and sustain process changes.
    • Ensure effective integration across interconnected processes (e.g. L2C ↔ S2P ↔ R2D).
    • Collaborate closely with Data, Compliance, Cyber Security, Architecture, Testing, and Change teams.
  • Operations, Continuous Improvement & Innovation
    • Ensure business process availability to the business by working closely with Tech Support teams and leaning in with SAP functional expertise when needed.
    • Monitor process performance and identify opportunities for improvement, simplification, automation, and digitisation.
    • Ensure the ERP applications continue to evolve to support the organisation's long-term strategy.

About You

  • Proven SAP PLM and SAP IPD implementation experience, with the ability to provide hands-on implementation guidance across all delivery phases, alongside proven SAP EPPM delivery experience.
  • Ability to align process with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
