As a Platform Support Engineer, you will play a key part in managing and evolving our hybrid cloud/on‑prem environment. Working closely with our Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you'll take ownership of day‑to‑day platform operations across Azure, Entra, Intune, Windows Server, and VMware, ensuring our core infrastructure remains secure, stable, and scalable. You'll be hands‑on with a modern Microsoft ecosystem, configuring identity, device management, server infrastructure, virtualisation, and core networking services. Alongside BAU work, you'll also contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives—helping modernise systems, streamline processes, and introduce new technologies that enhance resilience and user experience. This is a role where your expertise will have a direct impact on the reliability and performance of IT services across the business.
About You
You're an experienced and proactive Platform Support Engineer with strong technical capability across cloud and on‑prem environments. You're confident managing identity, devices, and core infrastructure, and you enjoy working hands‑on to keep systems secure, stable, and performing well. You collaborate effectively within a small team, communicate clearly, and take pride in delivering reliable, modern IT services.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Solid hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure (VMs, networking, storage, monitoring)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, including hybrid identity and conditional access
- Practical experience with Intune/Endpoint Manager for device management and compliance
- Proficient in managing Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, file services)
- Experience with Hyper-V administration
- Good understanding of core networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, routing)
- Confident troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues
- Clear and structured communication and documentation skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience with Meraki switches and wireless management
- Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls (rule updates, monitoring, security policies)
- Familiarity with Microsoft SSO configuration
- General end‑user computing experience, including Windows 11 support
- PowerShell scripting for automation and operational tasks
