About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Frontend Developer to work for our client within the banking sector. This is initially a 1-year contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Sheffield.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for building intuitive, high-performance applications. You’ll work primarily with React on the frontend and contribute across the full stack- including iOS native mobile development, Java-based API development, and test automation.
This is a hands-on, growth-oriented role ideal for someone who wants to expand their skills into DevOps and CI/CD pipelines while working closely with experienced engineers across the stack.Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive user interfaces using React
- Contribute to iOS native mobile application features and improvements
- Collaborate with backend developers to integrate and extend Java-based APIs
- Write and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium
- Participate in full-stack development and deployment
- Support and improve DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and scalability
About You
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in software development
- Proficiency in React.js and JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals
- Exposure to iOS native development (e.g., Swift, Objective-C)
- Understanding of Java-based backend services and REST APIs
- Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium
- Interest or experience in DevOps and CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn across the tech stack
- Good collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional teams
Desirable:
- Experience with version control (Git) and Agile development workflows
- Knowledge of containerization tools (Docker) and deployment environments (Kubernetes, AWS, etc.)
- Familiarity with mobile-first and responsive design best practices
