FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Functional Consultant (Microsoft Squads Only) to work for our client within the financial services sector. This is initially a 9-month contract with strong prospects for extension and will be a hybrid role based in Cheshire or Edinburgh.
Our client is seeking an experienced Functional Consultant to work within Microsoft-aligned delivery squads, accountable for translating business and functional requirements into compliant Microsoft platform configurations. The role sits within the Product Owner and Solution Architecture role family and focuses on functional design, platform configuration, and advisory support rather than delivery ownership.
The Functional Consultant will ensure solutions align to product intent, Microsoft platform standards, and architectural guardrails, while meeting regulatory and audit expectations.
- Translate business and functional requirements into functional specifications or low-level designs for Microsoft Dynamics 365 platforms
- Configure and customise Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions in line with platform standards and best practice
- Advise stakeholders on Microsoft platform capabilities, constraints, and recommended approaches
- Support Solution Designers and Technical Leads by assessing and confirming functional feasibility
- Ensure all functional designs meet regulatory, governance, and audit requirements
In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365; Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant Associate is desirable.
Proven ability to resolve complex, project-related functional issues.
Previous experience in consulting, implementation projects, or business analysis roles.
Code-level development outside Microsoft platform configuration.
