In this role, you will own and develop data orchestration and governance to best practices as well as help with setting direction of technology within the company and be proactive with finding work that serves the business. You’ll also contribute to setting the company’s technology direction and proactively identify opportunities that support business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with investment team and take ownership of current in-house applications (React front end) as well as infrastructure that sits behind it (Dagster, Azure, SQL, third party APIs)
  • Build new platforms from scratch to speed up processes (this, however, is typically more of a full stack role focus)
  • Work closely with technology partners (Macquarie Cloud Services, Systima, Pinnacle Investment)
  • Support basic tasks such as working on an excel app that fund managers use daily
  • Participate in defining the future of the organisation's technological architecture and journey

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in a data engineering role
  • Strong data governance experience
  • Confident, hands-on coding ability
  • Comfortable acting as a technical authority - advising on approach and best practice and communicating clearly with non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Azure, SQL, Dagster, Airflow or similar tools acceptable
  • Experience with Python scripting, React-based applications, FactSet and third-party web APIs

Desirable:

  • Understanding of financial data
  • Experience with VBA scripting and related tools
