FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Design and Change Manager to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in one of the various offices in the UK including London, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle.
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Business Design & Change Manager (BD&C Manager), who will sit within the BD&C pillar and will report to the Head of Change. You will task manage other roles, such as Business Analysts and Data Analysts, as required and will operate within multidisciplinary teams of dedicated change professionals across the three Operational Services Division pillars, and alongside colleagues across the wider organisation, to deliver the clients ambitious change portfolio and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, who is adaptable and has strong Project Management skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead integrated business design activity, including the development of associated design artefacts, across all aspects of the operating model such as people, process and technology to solve business problems and realise identified benefits
- Ensure effective change management processes and practices are in place to assess the impact of proposed changes, while managing the awareness and readiness of individuals affected
- Champion the use and development of solutions that enable organisation-wide capabilities, efficiently and effectively delivering value across the company
- Collaborate with operational, policy colleagues and digital, data and technology practitioners to design as well as implement improvements to operational processes, including new ways of working and new technology solutions, aligning with company and Government standards
- Lead complex stakeholder management, ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders, engaging across organisational silos to build consensus around business designs as well as culminating in the successful implementation of changes
- Contribute to the development of business cases to address business problems, articulating measurable benefits while collaborating with others to plan an approach for their realisation
- Embed operational excellence and performance management processes as well as procedures as part of implementing change to enable a culture of continuous improvement
- Oversee performance management of team members, through conducting performance evaluations and develop those who are line and tasked managed while working as part of a multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes
- Contribute to the development of the wider business development and change management practices that align with recognised functional standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years\’ experience in applying effective business design approaches and principles of business architecture to complex organisational change projects
- Expert in employing change management methodology to drive the successful implementation of change and to realise the benefits of new solutions and ways of working
- Skilled in managing engagement across complex and varied stakeholder groups to deliver solutions that are strategic, and policy intent balanced with effective and efficient operational delivery
- Familiarity in adopting a user-centred design approach to digital and technology service design
- Experience of managing, coaching and mentoring junior team members to improve the quality and consistency across the profession
- Skilled in tailoring and presenting high quality artifacts to concisely communicate with different stakeholders
- Demonstrated capability in quality management
Desirable
- Able to work with data structures and have a solid understanding of data modelling and data architecture
- Experience of delivering large scale transformation programmes, ideally within a Central Government environment, to GDS standards
- Worked within a regulatory or similarly complex environment
