FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Automation Data Analyst (Finance) to join a project within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with strong potential for extension and will be a hybrid role based in Cheshire. This opportunity is suited to an experienced Automation Analyst looking to drive process efficiency and control improvements across Finance. The role focuses on identifying automation opportunities, rapidly prototyping solutions, and scaling effective tools to enhance reporting, reconciliation, and operational processes.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, collate, and prioritise automation opportunities across finance processes, including EUC and manual operational workflows
- Develop and implement automated solutions using tools such as Power Automate and Power Query
- Build and maintain Excel-based automation solutions, including VBA where appropriate
- Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable automation solutions
- Apply a structured and iterative approach to problem-solving, delivering MVP solutions and refining based on feedback
About You:
- 4–5 years’ experience in a finance, reporting, or automation-focused role
- Strong understanding of finance processes such as reconciliations, reporting cycles, and controls
