About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Project Manager to work for our client within the energy sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Solihull.

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead high-impact initiatives within their utilities portfolio, with a focus on Industrial & Commercial (I&C) environments and regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, business-critical programmes within a fast-paced Agile / DevOps setting.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in delivering projects that involve third-party supplier management, regulatory oversight, and technical delivery across multidisciplinary teams. You will be responsible for driving full project lifecycles β€” from scoping through execution to completion β€” while maintaining alignment with commercial goals, industry regulations, and stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent projects within the utilities sector, ensuring all deliverables meet regulatory, technical, and business standards
  • Develop, track, and maintain comprehensive project plans, including budgets, timelines, resourcing, and risk registers
  • Manage third-party supplier relationships, holding them accountable to SLAs, delivery milestones, and contractual commitments
  • Operate in a hybrid Agile/DevOps environment, facilitating Agile ceremonies and ensuring collaborative delivery across technical and business functions
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to maintain progress and minimise disruption
  • Engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership, product owners, technical leads, and regulatory bodies
  • Ensure all projects are delivered in compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and external audit standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery frameworks, processes, and reporting mechanisms

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in project management, with a proven track record in the utilities sector
  • Demonstrable experience in Industrial & Commercial (I&C) project environments
  • Strong background in managing third-party vendors and supplier contracts to ensure successful and compliant delivery
  • Extensive experience delivering projects using Agile methodologies, ideally within DevOps-enabled teams
  • Hands-on experience with regulatory projects β€” understanding the compliance landscape and delivering projects aligned with industry-specific requirements
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills, with a consultative and pragmatic approach to delivery
  • Proficient in modern project management tools and reporting dashboards (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Confluence, Power BI)
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile/Scrum certifications) are highly desirable
