About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Power Platform Developer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Manchester.
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Power Platform Developer with a minimum of 5 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform. You will play a pivotal role in delivering scalable, effective, and secure low-code solutions that drive business efficiency and innovation.
In this position, you\’ll work closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and end users to understand requirements, implement best practice solutions, and champion the adoption of cloud-based automation. Your expertise will help shape how the client’s organisation leverages the Power Platform to solve real-world challenges
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop applications using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven), Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power Virtual Agents in accordance with business needs and architectural standards
- Create efficient, scalable, and maintainable workflows using Power Automate to automate and enhance existing business operations
- Engage with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and provide expert guidance on Power Platform capabilities and limitations
- Conduct code and workflow reviews to ensure solutions are accurate, efficient, secure, and in line with established best practices and organisational standards
- Serve as the internal go-to expert on Power Platform capabilities, troubleshooting, and strategic direction. Provide ongoing technical support to team members and business users
- Integrate Power Platform solutions with external data sources such as SQL Server, SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, and Microsoft Dataverse. Design and deploy reports and dashboards using Power BI
- Contribute to the management of application lifecycle using tools like Azure DevOps for backlog tracking, CI/CD pipelines, and version control
- Utilise your understanding of Microsoft Azure services and Microsoft Dynamics 365 to develop, deploy, and integrate business-critical solutions
About You
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate (Cloud Flows), Power Pages (formerly Power Apps Portals) and Power Virtual Agents
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Dataverse and Dynamics 365 configuration and deployment
- Experience in automated testing using Power Apps Test Studio or similar tools
- Familiarity with integrating solutions using data connectors such as SQL Server, SharePoint, and Microsoft Lists
- Experience working with Power BI for building and publishing dashboards and data models
- Understanding of CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps or similar platforms
- Competency in Microsoft development technologies, including .NET, C#, TypeScript / JavaScript, SQL Server
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure services, especially those relevant to Power Platform integration and security
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, troubleshoot effectively, and mentor less experienced developers
