The role
- Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations and ensure all accounts are reconciled monthly.
- Lead year-end close activities including accruals, prepayments, and journal entry into Oracle Financial Accounting ERM.
- Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards.
- Review and validate all intercompany transactions and eliminate consolidation entries as required with regional colleagues.
- Perform variance analysis and investigate significant account fluctuations.
Account Management
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accrual reconciliations.
- Review and approve invoices, expense reports, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure timely recording of transactions and accurate coding to appropriate cost centres.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and unapproved transactions.
Tax & Compliance
- Assist with tax compliance requirements and prepare supporting documentation for Tax team.
- Ensure all financial records comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Support internal and external audit activities; prepare audit schedules and working papers with UK colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for regulatory filing requirements.
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Prepare management accounts and KPI dashboards.
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making.
- Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
Systems & Process
- Maintain accounting system integrity and data quality with support from Systems team colleagues.
- Support implementation of new accounting processes or system upgrades if applicable.
- Create and maintain accounting documentation and procedures with UK colleagues.
Team Support
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide technical guidance on accounting matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Operations, IT) on financial matters.
- Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
