Legal & Compliance Analytics is part of the wider Automation and Insights team with 150+ analysts, data scientists and data engineers. We are looking to recruit a data analyst who will help ensure that our players are playing sustainably and in a safe environment. Legal and Compliance Analytics supports insight driven decisions across Compliance and Customer Service initiatives, detecting early signs of problematic gambling and optimising the effectiveness of our responsible gambling tools and processes. Our team works on solutions designed to solve problems in the areas of Anti‑Money Laundering, Fraud Detection and Responsible Gambling.
Your work will lead to immediate real‑world impact in the form of lower customer friction, reduced fraud losses and increased ability to detect and prevent harmful gambling.
What you will do:
- Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into actionable insights.
- Develop BI reports and dashboards to assist Compliance and Governance teams on their daily activities.
- Perform ad-hoc data extraction, manipulation and analysis, translating findings into actionable insights.
- Produce materials summarising your analysis and present compelling narratives to stakeholders.
- Reconcile data when data integrity issues are found.
- Evaluate the impact of proposed policy and procedural changes, shaping the future of responsible gaming.
- Exhibit curiosity and an inquisitive mindset by not stopping at the questions asked and going beyond when findings appear questionable.
- Continuously improve on your technical and soft skills.
Your experience:
- Practical experience of completing data projects using SQL in an industry setting; at least 3-4 years’ experience of working in analytical role.
- Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
- Experience exploring and analysing structured and unstructured data; presenting findings with effective data visualisation.
- Building and maintaining BI reports; creating and maintaining clear documentation on key metrics, data sources and business logic.
- Knowledge of Python or R is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of statistical modelling techniques such as logistic regression, clustering, linear regression, decision trees etc is a plus.
- Knowledge of Fraud Prevention, Anti‑Money Laundering or Responsible Gambling is not necessary but advantageous.
- Degree preferred in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or other Science related disciplines.
