We build native i OS apps, and we care about doing it well.

We’re looking for someone who feels the same — a team player who contributes ideas, listens to others, and reaches for the simplest solution that does the job.

You'll join an i OS team of around 50 developers.

The codebase is large and mature — built with Swift Package Manager, broken into components by function, with a light application layer wired up via Xcode Gen — which means real engineering challenges and plenty of experienced people to learn from and bounce ideas off.

We debate approaches openly and settle on the pattern that fits the task, not whatever’s fashionable.

Our two i OS domain architects set the broader technical direction alongside the wider engineering group, and senior engineers work closely with them — you'll have a real say in where the codebase goes, including our ongoing shift from UIKit to Swift UI for new work.

Above all, we care about code that's well written, understood by the whole team, and easy to maintain.

One thing worth knowing up front: we target the latest two i OS releases.

You get to use the APIs and platform features Apple ships shortly after they land — not years later.

What you'll do

• Design, build, test and ship high-quality i OS apps, primarily in Swift UI — with UIKit screens converted opportunistically as you touch them
• Shape technical decisions with the team and our domain architects
• Write Swift with expert command of Xcode — we test as we build: unit tests inside each component, integration tests where they meet, UI tests where it counts
• Improve how we work — logging, CI/CD (we're on Git Lab), and other engineering practices
• Give and receive code review that makes the code better
• Keep our documentation current — we write it in Doc C and host it ourselves, and everyone pitches in
• Break technical requirements down into clear, deliverable work
• Take the lead during incidents — triage, resolve, and follow through — and own performance testing for your area
• Represent the team confidently with stakeholders
• Your experience
• 6+ years of i OS development on a solid engineering foundation
• Expert knowledge of the i OS SDK and Swift
• Strong with Swift UI (our direction for new work) and comfortable working in UIKit — we convert opportunistically, not on a deadline
• Experience working in modular codebases (SPM or similar) — comfortable keeping components decoupled and reasoning about the tradeoffs
• Strong with Swift Testing (our direction — XCTest experience is fine, but we're moving on)
• Good judgement about design patterns: you pick the one suited to the task, not the one out of habit
• Comfortable reasoning about concurrency in Swift, especially async/await
• Solid grasp of REST — we have an established networking layer that works well, so you'll build on it rather than fight it
• A focus on code that's clear, maintainable and understood by the team
• Experience with test automation, TDD, BDD and QA
• Experience with incident management and risk assessment
• Understanding of secure development principles and impact analysis
• Excellent written and verbal English, comfortable with technical and non-technical audiences
• Comfortable with Git
• Nice to have
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools — we use Cursor and are leaning into it
• Performance tuning and profiling skills
• A track record of improving how an Agile team works
• Familiarity with Git Lab and JIRA
