The Business Development Manager is tasked with developing and diversifying business so that income increases and future growth is guaranteed. The role requires presenting opportunities that yield strategic and financial value, and an innovative, self-starting mindset with a solid understanding of the electronic components industry.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)- Closes new business deals while coordinating requirements; develops and negotiates contracts; and integrates contract requirements with business operations.
- Protects the organization’s value by maintaining confidentiality.
- Enhances the organization’s reputation by taking ownership of new and varied requests.
- Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
- Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
- Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
- Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills.
- Demand creation—defining critical markets and new customers in the assigned sales territory.
- Promoting and selling Value Add, Supply Chain, and Full Life Cycle programs.
- Planning sales strategy and developing internal and external relationships to support solution selling.
- Establishing and fostering relationships with customers to win design opportunities and address business challenges.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction related to supply chain management and other value-added services.
- Developing strategic plans for all assigned accounts, selling and marketing the full BJG offering with knowledge of supplier lines (e.g., Glenair, Amphenol, TE, Souriau/Sunbank, Leach).
- Performing other duties as assigned.
