We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Special Projects Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career within project engineering, with clear progression into managing projects independently.
You will support the Special Projects team in the coordination, delivery, and completion of projects, while gaining hands-on experience across tendering, project management, design input, and client liaison.
- Support project management activities, including purchasing and organising plant, materials, and sub-contractors
- Compile Operating & Maintenance manuals for completed projects, including mark-up and printing of Record Drawings
- Attend site commissioning and witness client training sessions
- Support the day-to-day running of the department
- Attend site meetings alongside engineers
- Survey and price small-scale projects
- Source and locate parts/materials to support engineers
- Provide site support and technical assistance when required
- Assist the Service Department with technical support
Long-Term Development Opportunities:
- Surveying and estimating new works independently
- Full management of projects from inception through to completion
- Submission and agreement of Final Accounts
Engineering qualification (or working towards one) preferred. Good IT skills (Microsoft Office essential; experience with project software advantageous). Full driving licence preferred.
