We are looking for a highly skilled GP with experience in an urgent or Primary Care setting to work across our services in Doncaster. The successful candidate will work closely with the clinical manager to support with Clinical Governance, audits and development of our urgent and emergency services. Opportunities to assist with recruitment, training, supervision and professional development will be available.

Main duties of the job:

  • The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professional and administrative colleagues, working in a range of Planned and Urgent Care services within Doncaster, with the flexibility to be available across different sites, and providing remote support if the need arises.
  • You will provide consultations and appropriate clinical management of patients attending with injury and illness to services, either face to face or virtually.
  • The post includes regular dedicated time for Continuing Professional Development and study leave.
  • The role will provide additional mentorship and support to new and evolving roles in our clinical workforce and to clinical trainees of all professions.
  • The role will contribute to the Clinical Governance agenda within the specified location/Business Unit.
  • The role will contribute to clinical innovation across the organisation, including development of the current UTC service at Doncaster, in line with the NHS long term plan and UTC model.
  • The role will contribute to clinical digital developments and integration across the organisation.

The post holder will:

  • Provide high quality clinical services to the populations we serve in line with local and national priorities.
  • Keep contemporaneous, accurate and legible records of all patient contacts.
  • Contribute to evaluation/audit, Patient Safety Incident Investigations (PSII) and clinical standard setting within the service.
  • Develop and encourage positive working relationships with local GP Practices and other appropriate services.
  • Participate in organisational, operational and strategic planning where appropriate/required.
  • Engage with continuing professional and personal development.
  • Participate in Significant Event analysis and Patient Safety Incident Investigations (PSII).
  • Support the Management team and Clinical Nurse Manager(s) to ensure all service KPIs/targets are met.
  • Monitor and lead improvements to standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, and evidence-based practice.
  • Contribute to the Clinical Governance agenda within the service by leading audit and research.
