The Service:We are commissioned by Lancashire and South Cumbria, Integrated Care Board to provide an NHS telephony dental triage & signposting service. The helpline receives around 180k calls per year and we book in and out of hours, urgent and emergency dental patients 365 days a year, at multiple sites across Lancashire & South Cumbria. We believe in making a difference, and pride ourselves on delivering high quality patient care with clinical and non-clinical call handlers.
Overview of the role:
£12.45 per hour with enhancements on weekends & Bank holidays
Part time, evenings & weekends. Looking for a bank shift pattern to be available for at least 2 shifts per week. Option to pick up extra if wishes.
Service operating hours/shift patterns:Monday to Friday 5.30pm-9pm / Saturday, Sundays & BHs 1pm 5pm
Job role:
An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Individual to develop their career within our Emergency Dental Service.
We are looking for a person who will enjoy working in an urgent care environment, not be phased by the unexpected elements of dentistry but will take satisfaction in providing an essential service to your community.
Main Duties:
- Being the first face, a patient sees in FCMS dental services, greet patients in a friendly, caring and professional manner, checking in and signposting patients.
- Ensure you keep a tidy work area, and keep the reception area is smart and welcoming
- Maintain and update patient records, processing information received accurately and concisely.
- Be very aware of surroundings, our patients may feel anxious or could become unwell, it is essential that you are able to notice any changes and support patients/clinical team as required.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times. A good working knowledge of Information Governance is essential.
- This role will encounter some stressful situations, patients attending our clinic are usually in pain or may have been in an incident attending with injuries. Being able to work effectively under pressure in a calm and confident manner whilst remaining sensitive to the patients needs is essential.
- To undertake any clerical work and any other reception/admin duties relevant to the role.
- To liaise with the Lancashire & South Cumbria Dental Helpline.
- To be responsible for cash handling and end of day banking procedures
