Location: The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) Doncaster Royal Infirmary Armthorpe Road DN2 5LT

We are looking for a highly skilled GP with experience in an urgent or Primary Care setting to work across our services in Doncaster. The successful candidate will work closely with the clinical manager to support with Clinical Governance, audits and development of our urgent and emergency services. Opportunities to assist with recruitment, training, supervision and professional development will be available.

Main duties of the job:

• The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professional and administrative colleagues, working in a range of Planned and Urgent Care services within Doncaster, with the flexibility to be available across different sites, and providing remote support if the need arises.
• You will provide consultations and appropriate clinical management of patients attending with injury and illness to services, either face to face or virtually.
• The post includes regular dedicated time for Continuing Professional Development and study leave.

The post holder also has additional responsibilities:

• Provide additional mentorship and support to new and evolving roles in our clinical workforce and to clinical trainees of all professions.
• Contribute to the Clinical Governance agenda within the specified location/Business Unit.
• Contribute to clinical innovation across the organisation, including development of the current UTC service at Doncaster, in line with the NHS long term plan and UTC model.
• Contribute to clinical digital developments and integration across the organisation.
• Develop partnerships with relevant stakeholder organisations ensuring effective care pathways.

The post holder will:

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

• Essential: Relevant Professional Qualification, GMC Registration
• Desirable: Experience in Urgent Care

Experience:

• Essential: Experience of working independently as an unsupervised practitioner in the primary or urgent care setting.
• Desirable: Demonstrates ability and knowledge on how to undertake audit and feedback to clinicians.

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:

• Essential: Demonstrate the ability to work in highly demanding environments.
• Desirable: Experience of working with clinical IT systems.

Specific Job Requirements:

• Essential: Remaining calm under pressure, able to manage varying workloads.
