Job Summary
At FCDO Services we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings and courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech and a whole lot more. Our Technology and Operations team provides digital solutions for FCDO and Government, shaping a data‑driven future. In this role you will lead the delivery of infrastructure and network architecture across various domains, focusing on automation, monitoring, security and identity management.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver secure, complex infrastructure and network solutions aligned with business and security objectives.
- Coordinate resources to support project delivery and operational teams, contributing to governance and enterprise architecture.
- Develop technical roadmaps, standards and documentation for infrastructure and networking.
- Review proposals as part of the Technical Design Authority, influencing strategic direction.
- Lead and mentor a team of technical architects, providing guidance and expertise.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their suitability for UK Government standards.
- Engage with stakeholders and governance forums to provide clear, evidence‑based technical advice.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Professional level certifications, and willingness to work towards TOGAF or ITIL.
- Experience with Azure, M365 and AWS platforms; knowledge of NCSC, GDS and UK Government security frameworks.
- Proven ability to translate business and security requirements into secure, efficient, and cost‑effective designs.
- Experience with the TOGAF framework for reviewing and assuring complex solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
