Hours: 47.5 hours per week, 7am to 5pm

Job Overview

As an Electrician at FCC Environment, you will provide effective planned maintenance, conduct remedial repairs following statutory electrical testing, attend emergency breakdowns, and carry out electrical and mechanical fault‐finding. You will be based at Darrington Quarry but will also cover surrounding quarries, working on a wide range of equipment. This vacancy is for a full‐time position working 5 days per week.

What you will be doing

  • Carry out effective planned maintenance
  • Perform remedial repairs following routine statutory electrical testing
  • Attend emergency breakdowns
  • Electrical and mechanical fault‐finding
  • Provide temporary fixes and permanent solutions to maintain operations
  • Work on a wide range of equipment across Darrington Quarry and surrounding sites

What we are looking for

  • Qualified Industrial Electrician (City & Guilds/ONC), ideally with BS7671 18th edition
  • Conversant with the Electricity at Work Act
  • Able to read electrical drawings
  • Familiar with industrial mobile and fixed plant
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, inverters, drives, and motor control circuits
  • Able to diagnose and repair electrical problems across a variety of equipment
  • Satisfactory completion of relevant Competency Management System modules and all other required training
  • Self‐motivated problem solver, able to work under own initiative
  • Good diagnostic skills and logical approach to fault‐finding
  • Good communicator and self‐organised
