Working Chargehand Hourly Rate : £15 per hour Hours : Full-time, 40 hours per week Location : Havering Depot, RM12 5BF As a Working Chargehand at FCC Environment, you will play a key role in supporting the waste collection service, working both as part of the frontline crew and assisting the Service Delivery Manager and Supervisors. This is a practical role where you will not only carry out driving and loading duties, but also help manage day-to-day operations, staff deployment, compliance, and customer service. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week. Our promise to you – Competitive salary – 20 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) – Pension scheme – On-the-job training and progression opportunities – Recognition scheme – Refer a friend incentive – Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the Best Doctors Service via our Wellbeing Platform What will you be doing? – Supporting the service by carrying out loader/driver duties when required – Responding to customer queries and requests, and conducting site visits – Assisting with the deployment of crews at the start and end of the day – Ensuring all operations are compliant with health & safety standards, company policies, and waste management legislation – Supporting supervisors with daily and weekly audits, paperwork, and staff communications – Delivering toolbox talks and helping with staff training – Carrying out accident reporting and assisting with investigations when required – Motivating the team to meet operational objectives while maintaining safe systems of work What are we looking for? We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual who has: – Previous experience in the waste industry (essential) – A valid driving licence – Effective organisational and planning skills – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – A team-focused attitude and the ability to motivate others – Strong attention to detail with honest and trustworthy conduct – Excellent timekeeping and reliability About us We are FCC Environment, one of the nations leading waste and resource management companies.
