Salary: £15.03 per hour
Hours: 47.75 hours per week, 7am to 5pm
Location: Barnsdale Quarry, WF8 3JX
As a Quarry Operative at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the safe operation and routine maintenance of fixed and mobile plant, supporting the efficient running of our quarry operations. You’ll work as part of a team to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently, in line with company policies and procedures. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week including one Saturday per month (1 in 4).

What will you be doing?
- Operate quarry plant and machinery safely and efficiently
- Carry out daily checks, routine maintenance, and cleaning of equipment
- Complete inspection books and report defects
- Work in accordance with Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems
- Participate in health and safety initiatives and report hazards or near misses
- Accurately record timesheets and support cover for planned/unplanned absences, including overtime if required
- Support site cleanliness and preventative maintenance as directed by the site manager
What are we looking for?
- Relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the quarrying industry
- Experience operating plant and machinery such as loading shovels and other mobile plant
- Knowledge of quarry plant operation and maintenance
- Completion of required training (as defined in the Training Matrix)
- Positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude to work
- Commitment to health and safety, and the ability to work as part of a team
- Strong drive, resilience, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Willingness to undertake any other reasonable duties as required
