Salary – £13.50 per hour
Hours – 30 hours per week, (Forklift operator, Telescopic Handler up to 9 meters with Rotating Forks) Monday to Friday
Location – East Lothian, EH21 8PZ
As a Plant Operator at FCC Environment, you will operate mobile plant equipment to control and move material around the site, supporting recycling and environmental goals. You’ll also assist with traffic management, conduct safety checks, and help maintain high site standards.

What will you be doing?
- Operating mobile plant to control site materials efficiently
- Managing site traffic safely and effectively
- Assisting with maintenance of the RDF plant and mobile equipment
- Conducting daily plant checks and reporting defects
- Maintaining site documentation in line with IMS/SFS standards
- Supporting recycling targets and process improvements
What are we looking for?
- Experience operating mobile plant machinery, such as a telehandler or loading shovel
- A valid mobile plant licence (essential)
- A strong focus on health, safety and environmental standards
- Reliable and practically minded, with a positive attitude
- Comfortable carrying out daily checks and reporting defects
- A team player with good communication skills
- Flexible and willing to support traffic management and general yard duties
- The ability to maintain basic paperwork and site records
