As an Engineering Apprentice at FCC Environment, you will undertake a fully funded Level 3 Process Engineering (Operations) Apprenticeship, combining practical experience with industry-leading training. You will support the safe and efficient operation of our Energy from Waste facility while developing the skills and knowledge needed for a long-term engineering career.
This vacancy is for a full-time position as part of a structured three-year apprenticeship programme.

- Completing a Level 3 Process Engineering Apprenticeship (equivalent to A Levels)
- Undertaking initial training at HETA Training Academy in Hull (first 10-12 months)
- Gaining practical experience within an Energy from Waste facility
- Supporting plant operations, maintenance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists
- Applying health, safety and environmental standards in all activities
- Returning to the Allington facility in Years 2 and 3 to continue practical development
- GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade 5 or above
- A genuine interest in engineering and sustainability
- Willingness to learn and commit to a structured apprenticeship programme
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Applicants must be aged 16 or over by September 2026
Year 1: HETA Training Academy Hull
- For the first 10-12 months, apprentices will train at the renowned HETA Training Academy.
- Fully funded accommodation

Living accommodation is on, or very close to, campus alongside apprentices from companies such as TOTAL, SSE, Siemens, Drax, BOC and Smith & Nephew. Parental visits are welcomed and encouraged, and HETA open days allow families to explore the facilities first-hand.
Years 2 & 3: Allington, Kent
- Apprentices return to Kent to continue their development at our Energy from Waste Facility - a key part of the region's infrastructure.
- Processes approximately 560,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste each year
- Generates green energy for around 68,000 homes
- Operates 24/7
You will spend your time learning directly from FCC engineers and industry experts, supported by experienced HETA coaches.
Earn While You Learn:- Year 1: £18,000

- Years 2 & 3 (aged 18-20): £21,158
- Years 2 & 3 (aged 21+): £24,785
All training and qualifications are fully funded over the three-year programme.
