Hours: Average 40 hours per week, between 6am and 6pm

Location: Allington Energy from Waste Facility, ME16 0LE

As an Industrial Cleaner at FCC Environment, you will play a crucial role in upholding the cleanliness and safety of the Allington Integrated Waste Management Facility. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Routine cleaning of plant and equipment
  • Ensuring strict adherence to FCC’s safe systems of work
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and environmental safety

Your efforts will directly contribute to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility, supporting the essential waste management operations that keep communities running smoothly.

This is a full-time position, working an average of 40 hours per week on a continental shift pattern, as designated by the management team.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Carrying out assigned cleaning tasks safely and effectively
  • Using cleaning tools and equipment competently
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Reporting any unsafe practices, near misses, or potential hazards to the supervisor
  • Operating fork trucks and sweepers safely (if trained and authorised)
  • Helping to minimise environmental impacts, including odour, dust, and noise
  • Working collaboratively within a small cleaning team to maintain high standards
  • Suggesting improvements to cleaning processes and energy efficiency

  • Industrial cleaning experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Good communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
  • Understanding of safe systems of work (training provided)
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
