Hours – 34.50 hours per week, 9am to 5pm

Location – Leighton Buzzard, HWRC

As a Site Manager at FCC Environment, you will lead the day-to-day operations of one of our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs). You will be responsible for managing the team, ensuring health and safety standards are met, overseeing compliance with environmental permits, and delivering excellent customer service. This is a key front-line leadership role supporting sustainability and recycling within the community.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working as part of a team on a 10 week rolling rota.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing daily operations and leading a team at the HWRC site
  • Ensuring safe and correct segregation and storage of waste streams
  • Assisting and advising members of the public with waste disposal
  • Overseeing health and safety and ensuring all incidents are reported correctly
  • Providing on-site training for staff and agency workers
  • Maintaining cleanliness, order and site stock (e.g. PPE/tools)
  • Ensuring all relevant waste documentation is completed accurately
  • Conducting and ensuring completion of daily, weekly, and monthly compliance checks
  • Implementing site policies and procedures and ensuring PPE standards are followed
  • Acting as First Aider, Fire Marshal, and Materials Handler Operative
