As an HGV Driver at FCC Environment, you will play a vital role in delivering waste collection services safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is a practical role where no two days are the same, working both independently and as part of a supportive team. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?

  • Carrying out waste collection duties, including driving HGV vehicles and loading waste
  • Completing work to required cleanliness standards and timescales
  • Working safely at all times and wearing appropriate PPE
  • Completing daily vehicle safety and defect checks
  • Reporting vehicle defects, incidents and near misses promptly
  • Using electronic systems to log job progress and report issues
  • Ensuring vehicles are not overloaded and are operated lawfully
  • Complying with drivers hours legislation and tachograph requirements
  • Representing FCC Environment professionally with customers and council officers
  • Maintaining high service standards and supporting other services where required

What are we looking for?

  • A valid HGV/LGV Category C Licence
  • An up-to-date Driver CPC qualification
  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Experience working in the waste or similar operational environment
  • Good knowledge of health & safety and manual handling
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and a reliable approach
