As a Quarry Manager at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the quarry. You will ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors and visitors, minimise environmental impact, deliver customer expectations for service and product quality, and operate the site in line with agreed budgets and company standards.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week plus one Saturday morning per month on a rota basis.

What will you be doing?

  • Take full responsibility for health, safety and environmental compliance on site
  • Operate the quarry in line with Quarries Regulations 1999 and FCC Integrated Management Systems
  • Lead, manage and develop site teams, promoting a strong safety culture
  • Plan, organise and control quarry operations to meet production, quality and budget requirements
  • Carry out risk assessments, inspections and audits
  • Ensure high standards of product quality and customer service
  • Liaise with Operations, Commercial and Sales teams to balance production and demand
  • Maintain accurate site records, inspections and documentation

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience working within a quarrying environment
  • Extractives QCF Level 4 (or working towards)
  • Membership of the Institute of Quarrying (or willing to obtain)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Knowledge of mobile and fixed quarry plant
  • Good IT skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
