GIS Specialist
Salary – £40,662 – £50,828 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location – Hybrid Working
As a GIS Specialist at FCC Environment, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Estates and Development Teams by producing accurate geospatial data, mapping and analysis. Your work will primarily underpin Estates matters including land and property management, planning applications and associated mapping requirements plus support for business development initiatives.
You will use a variety of GIS and CAD tools to create and maintain spatial datasets, plans, and drawings that feed into company-wide mapping systems and support critical decision-making processes.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?
– Creating and maintaining spatial datasets and maps using ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and other software (i.e. LSS)
– Producing Land Registry compliant lease / licence / transfer plans for internal legal use
– Integrating and maintaining datasets in a GIS terrier system linked with FCC’s ‘Environet’ which is built upon Microsoft SharePoint
– Supporting planning and permitting applications with accurate geospatial data
– Performing land referencing and due diligence using title deeds and mapping resources
– Generating maps for business development including catchment areas, heat maps, and competitor analyses
– Collaborating with various teams to provide geospatial support for strategic projects
– Working with external consultants and data providers as needed
– Managing tasks and deadlines through a SharePoint-based tracking system (to be implemented)
What are we looking for?
– At least 5 years of industry experience in a GIS role
– Degree in Geography, GIS, Land Surveying or related discipline
– Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap, QGIS, and AutoCAD
– Experience with web-based GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Online) & databases
– Experience with land referencing and producing compliant plans for legal documents
– Strong MS Office skills
– An understanding of UK property law and environmental datasets
– The ability to manage workload independently and adapt to changing priorities
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
