Collections Supervisor

Then look no further… Collections Supervisor Salary: £27,455 – £37,751 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week Location & Postcode: Hereford, HR2 8BH As a Collections Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the health and safety of staff, contractors, and visitors to the site, minimising environmental impact, delivering customer expectations, and operating the site efficiently in line with the annual budget. You will supervise collection services and lead a team associated with refuse and recycling collections. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week. Our promise to you – Competitive salary – 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays – Pension scheme – Life insurance – On-the-job training and progression – Recognition scheme – Refer a friend – Flexible benefits, including high street savings, cycle to work scheme, Gymflex membership, and more (where applicable) – Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the Best Doctors Service via our Wellbeing Platform What will you be doing? – Supervising refuse and recycling collection staff – Ensuring health and safety compliance for all personnel – Conducting risk assessments and implementing SHEQ policies – Carrying out team briefings, gate checks, and spot checks on vehicles – Monitoring sickness and absence, and conducting back-to-work interviews – Overseeing training, including toolbox talks and safety/environmental alerts – Planning daily work schedules and vehicle availability – Managing contractor control and investigations – Chairing disciplinary meetings and conducting job interviews – Ensuring depot inspections and emergency drills are completed – Maintaining high standards of operational efficiency and customer service What are we looking for? – Supervisory experience (previous experience as a Supervisor is desirable) – Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, CMS, Safeguard) – A clean driving licence (LGV licence and CPC Driver Training advantageous) – Good local knowledge – Safety conscious, diligent, and detail-oriented – Self-motivated and keen to learn – Able to work within defined timescales and as part of a team – Excellent communication skills with all levels of staff and clients – Professional approach and excellent timekeeping – Flexibility with working hours, including some on-call weeks About us We are FCC Environment, one of the UK’s leading waste and resource management companies.
