40 hours per week, 7am to 3:45pm. Task and finish arranged by the depot but not contractual

As a Class 2 Driver at FCC Environment, you will support waste and recycling collection services in East Lothian.

You will be responsible for driving up to 12-tonne vehicles and loading collections of recycling materials such as food waste, glass, plastics, paper, and cards.

This is a practical role, involving assisting with loading the vehicle as part of the daily collection rounds.

Youll also play a key role in maintaining depot standards and ensuring all vehicle and safety procedures are followed.

This is a full-time position, working five days per week on a temporary contract for six months, with the potential to become permanent should a suitable vacancy arise.

  • Assist with loading the vehicle as part of the daily collection rounds
  • Oversee the vehicle at the council tipping points, ensuring the crews follow laid-down health and safety processes
  • A valid Cat C licence
  • Valid digital tachograph card and drivers CPC (minimum 35 hours completed) - Experience in waste collection is desirable but not essential full training will be provided
  • Local area knowledge is advantageous
  • Please note, this role will involve manual handling.
