Salary: Competitive salary with discretionary bonus

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: East Midlands (M1 corridor Derby/Leicester/Nottingham region)

As a Business Development Manager at FCC Environment, you will spearhead growth within the waste and recycling sector, identifying and targeting potential clients with an annual spend ranging from £60,000 to £1,000,000.

You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share
  • Generate new leads by targeting potential clients within your designated territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities for growth
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and negotiations to secure new business
  • Manage your own pipeline, diary and KPIs to achieve sales targets
  • Work with internal teams to develop tailored waste management solutions for clients
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations, environmental policies, and innovations

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in sales, business development or account management
  • Ideally, experience within the waste management or environmental services sector
  • Strong understanding of recycling, sustainability and waste management practices
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self-motivation, confidence and a results-driven approach
