Graduate Mechanical Engineer Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire Salary: Competitive Job Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Full-time We are an engineering and manufacturing business based in St Albans, looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your design and engineering skills, working alongside experienced engineers on practical projects from initial requirements through to manufacture. The role will suit a recent engineering graduate who enjoys solving problems, has an interest in mechanical design and wants to understand how products are developed, manufactured and improved. Key responsibilities will include: * Producing 3D CAD models, assemblies and engineering drawings * Supporting the design and development of mechanical components and products * Adapting existing designs to meet customer and project requirements * Assisting with engineering calculations and component selection * Preparing bills of materials and technical documentation * Working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical to produce * Supporting prototype assembly, testing and design improvements * Investigating technical issues with guidance from experienced engineers * Updating drawings and maintaining accurate design records * Considering materials, manufacturing methods and costs throughout the design process You will ideally have: * A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline * Experience using 3D CAD software through university projects, placements or employment * A good understanding of mechanical design and engineering principles * An interest in manufacturing processes, materials and product development * The ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills * Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team * A practical approach and willingness to learn * The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines If you're a Mechanical Engineering graduate looking to develop your skills and see your designs progress into finished products, we'd like to hear from you.
