FC Engineering Recruitment is working with an established engineering and manufacturing business in Sandy, Bedfordshire, who are looking to recruit a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience designing special purpose machinery and bespoke mechanical equipment.
The Role
- As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative machinery and mechanical solutions from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing special purpose machinery and bespoke mechanical equipment
- Producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
- Taking projects from concept through to detailed design and manufacture
- Producing assemblies, component drawings and Bills of Materials
- Working closely with manufacturing, project and production teams
- Supporting the development and improvement of existing machinery and equipment
- Ensuring designs meet relevant engineering and safety requirements
The Candidate
- The successful candidate is likely to have:
- Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer or similar
- Strong experience using SolidWorks
- Experience designing special purpose machinery, automated equipment or bespoke machinery
- A good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and BOMs
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
The Package
- Salary: £35,000 - £45,000, depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time position
