Product Design Engineer
Location: Gatwick
Salary: £32,000- 40,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
About the Company
An established business specialising in product design and development is looking for a Product Design Engineer to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a range of innovative products, taking designs from initial concepts through to manufacture.
The Role
- Develop new products from concept through to manufacture
- Produce 3D models and technical drawings using 3D CAD
- Design plastic components, housings and mechanical assemblies
- Support prototyping, testing and product development activities
- Consider materials, manufacturing processes and production costs
- Work closely with internal teams and external manufacturers
- Improve existing products through design modifications
Requirements
- Experience in mechanical engineering or product design
- Confident using 3D CAD modelling and design software (e.g. Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.)
- Understanding of plastics and injection moulding processes
- Experience developing products from concept through manufacture
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Consumer product design experience would be advantageous
