FC Engineering Recruitment is working with a highly technical engineering business specialising in the development and manufacture of advanced products for demanding applications. The company works across a variety of specialist engineering markets, including aerospace, automotive and rail.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the definition, design, development and testing of electronic hardware
- Designing and developing PCBs and electronic circuits using Altium Designer
- Taking ownership of hardware through the complete development lifecycle
- Producing specifications, schematics, block diagrams, test procedures and technical documentation
- Building and testing prototypes and investigating technical issues using laboratory equipment
- Researching and evaluating new electronic and hardware technologies
- Managing technical requirements, development budgets and project timescales
- Supporting product qualification and transfer into production
- Providing technical guidance to engineers, contractors and project teams
- Working closely with engineering and wider business functions to deliver new products
- Mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers
- Contributing to technical innovation, intellectual property and engineering best practice
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
- Extensive experience within an electronics or hardware development environment
- Strong understanding of the hardware development lifecycle, from requirements through to qualification and production
- Proven experience with PCB design and Altium Designer
- Experience designing, testing and troubleshooting electronic hardware
- Experience working to formal engineering, quality and design standards
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
- Experience taking technical responsibility for products or significant hardware developments
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different teams
