Job Description
We are seeking an accountant to join our growing UK team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in UK GAAP and IFRS. This role provides the opportunity to work within a dynamic, professional and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Assist in preparing and submitting the Corporation Tax (CT) and VAT computations and returns, ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirements and relevant regulations.
- Manage payroll activities, including calculation of salaries, deductions, and statutory contributions, while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements relevant to the financial services sector.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring strong financial controls are consistently applied.
- Support month-end and year-end reporting activities, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting.
- Prepare management reporting packs, including variance analyses and insights for leadership.
- Contribute to ongoing enhancements in processes, systems, and internal control frameworks.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience in financial institutions or the financial services sector is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, with experience in accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Xero) preferred.
